In 1995 Marissa was working at a privately owned cosmetic company when a recruiter convinced her to accept an interview with a local day spa that was looking for a Director. It was a rainy and gloomy day when she walked into this gorgeous space with gentle music playing and softly lit candles scenting the air; she instantly felt at home. She fell in love that day and began her spa journey, learning spa from the ground up. Marissa is a native of Tucson and has spent 12 years in her current location at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa. Her focus is on creating an environment that is a sanctuary to her community, team and guests.
